Christmas in July

I love to play along with challenge blogs. They're great for inspiring ideas and stretching my creativity. One of my new favorites is the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog. (It's not new, I'm new to it.) There are some seriously talented folks over there!

Here's this weeks challenge sketch:


I like it--simple, but effective.

Here's my take on it:


The craft cardstock base is by Paper Source. I used olive cardstock and B&T Duo paper from the Elemental paper pack. I added a pewter badge button to the ribbon for a little accent. (The design on the button reminded me of a snowflake!) The sentiment and trees are from the Tag the Occasion stamp set. (This is one valuable little stamp set! I use it all the time.)

For a finishing touch, I like to line my envelopes to match the cards. Here it is with its envelope:
