Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share: A Trip Down Ivy Lane

Hi All! Welcome to Day 2 of the Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share. Did you see the ADORABLE card that Lynn posted yesterday?! I'm telling you she is one INSPIRING Kraft-y Heart. You definitely want to pop by From My Bungalow and see what she has created today!

Today's project started out with one of my favorite programs Close To My Heart offers: the card making kits. There are two new kits in the Idea Book, Lollydoodle (which you can see here and here) and Ivy Lane. Each kit comes with an abundance of supplies including a D-size stamp set, 15 card blanks and envelopes, cardstock, patterned paper, lots of bling, and detailed instructions on how to create 3 different card designs. The Ivy Lane kit was created to work with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge as well. So let's take a look at the cards:

I think these top my list of all time favorites. The paper and embellishments are absolutely gorgeous! In fact, I was having so much fun with the Ivy Lane paper that I decided to break out the whole collection and put together a matching card box:

This box holds 6 of the cards and their envelopes. I started with Close To My Heart's My Creations Card Box, which is white, and heavily inked the edges with a combination of Cocoa and Saddle Exclusive Ink. Then I cut patterned paper to fit the outside panels and adhered it with Mod Podge. I added a drawer pull by Tim Holtz for a handle and then began to cover the inside. Because I couldn't get into the corners very well with the ink, I added little pieces of Cocoa Cardstock to cover up the seams and then added patterned paper to the inside using Mod Podge again. When that was all dry I added some durable studs from the Rosewood Accent Collection for "feet," but I haven't decided if I'm going to leave them on. Then I decorated the top. For that I layered Ivy Lane Purple Cardstock with Hollyhock Cardstock and patterned paper. The sentiment is the Joyful Wishes stamp and is stamped in Smokey Plum Exclusive Ink on Colonial White Cardstock. I used my aqua brush and Hollyhock, Blush, Pear and Bamboo Exclusive Inks to give it color and the fussy cut around it. I then added a little Seam Binding Ribbon, small Sparkle Flourishes, flowers from the Ivy Lane Assortment to the front panel and popped up the sentiment over the ribbon using dimensional adhesive. I then used dimensional adhesive to pop up the whole layer on the Ivy Lane Purple layer.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Here are the cards and their box together:

I hope you enjoyed the Kraft-y Hearts February Blog Share. Don't forget to stop by and see what the oh-so-talented Lynn Darda has for you today at From My Bungalow.

  1. Oh my goodness, this is just gorgeous. I love the dark inking on the edges of the box as it looks so rich! You would never know this started as plain white chipboard box. I love the way you embellished it too. This would make a wonderful gift.
