A little fall fun

Hey folks! Thought I'd make a fun little fall project and play along with a couple of challenges: STAMPlorations (a new one for me) and The Paper Players (one of my long-time faves).

Here are the challenges:

And here's my take:

The card bases measure 4 x 5 1/2 inches--I cut them a little narrower than usual to make better use of my Kraft cardstock, but they still fit the standard A2 envelopes nicely. Next I built my layers using Olive and Glacier cardstocks and patterned paper from the Pathfinding paper pack. The flower and butterly images, and the "thinking of you" sentiment are from the #30yearsofhappy limited edition stamp set that is available through the month of September. The "thank you" sentiment is from the Pretty Petals stamp set. The flower and butterfly are stamped in Glacier ink on Colonial White cardstock. I punched out the butterfly with a punch in my collection, but you could also cut out a similar image using the Cricut Artiste or Art Philosophy cartridges. (I would cut the image at 1 inch with the real dial size on.) I punched out the same shape from Olive cardstock and offset the image to give it a little extra oomph. I then popped it up using dimensional adhesive and added some brown sparkles for a bit of bling. The flower was fussy cut and then added to a scalloped circle and popped up with dimensional adhesive. The sentiments are stamped in Chocolate ink on Glacier cardstock. I inked all the edges of the elements (except the card base) with Chocolate ink as well.

Here are a couple of close ups:

And here it is with the second element of this project (and the extra fun part)--the card folio:

I hope you enjoyed this little bit of fall fun. Join me tomorrow to see the card folio that brings these cards together and makes a great hostess gift.
