Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share: Hello Friend!

Hi All! Welcome back to Day 2 of the Kraft-y Hearts' Taste Of Summer Blog Share. Today's card was inspired by a sketch on page 124 in "Wishes"--a book of card sketches and instructions by Close To My Heart. Let's take a look:

This maybe my favorite paper in the Taste Of Summer paper pack. I love the purple and yellow combo. (It smacks of Violets & Sunshine, no?)

Like yesterday's card, I began today's card with a White Daisy card base. I then added a background layer that I cut 1/4-inch shorter and narrower than the base. (That, by the way, is a little different from the sketch.) I added a little scallop to the bottom edge of the banner using the Scallop Border Punch and then attached it to the card. I then added a  2 1/4-inch square of paper to the banner (the corners of which I scalloped with a We R Memory Keepers punch) to further emphasize the sentiment. The sentiment is from a mini stamp called "Friendship Wreath," and is stamped in Canary Ink on a 2 inch scalloped circle of White Daisy cardstock. I added Yellow and Diamond Stickles to the sentiment for a little extra sparkle. Finally, I added a pennant of White Shimmer Trim and Purple Glitter Gems for a bit of bling.

Here are a couple of close ups:

And here is the card with the layers flipped:

And here are the two together:

Isn't that silk handkerchief perfect for these cards?? I found it in my textiles stash. Love those happy little coincidents. I hope you like my little hellos.
