From the Notebook...to the Frame....

Hi All! Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring Close To My Heart's July Stamp Of The Month: From the Notebook. If you hopped over from the ever-creative Shelly Nemitz's blog, One Pretty Piece, you're in the right place! I'll have a list of participants at the end. Now let's take a look at that stamp set:

As the name suggests, From the Notebook is a perfect set for planner lovers and list makers alike. And while I definitely will be using it for both, I decided I'd change it up for the blog hop and use it for something completely different. Let's take a look:

I've been having a lot of fun combining memory keeping and home decor lately, so that's what I decided to do with today's project. I covered an inexpensive craft store frame with paper from the Florence Collection and added Rose Gold foil tape to it along with Kraft and Rose Gold die cuts from the Florence complements pack. I added a few Rose Gold sequins for a final touch and set the frame aside and went to work on the background for my picture.

For the background, I distressed a piece of White Daisy cardstock using Flaxen and Cashmere inks. I then added a variety of stamps from the From the Notebook stamps set to create my own patterned paper. Most of the stamps are in second generation Peacock, Poppy, and Sapphire inks. However, I did stamp the Today and chevron images at full strength using Peacock, Pomegranate, and Sapphire inks.

I stamped the tag image in Sapphire ink on Colonial White cardstock and distressed it with a little Flaxen and Cashmere. I cut out the stamped tag and a matching Kraft cardstock tag and layered them together. I then added the "important" tab, which I had stamped in Pomegranate and cut out along with the "real life" arrow which is stamped in Peacock. Finally, I added a little White Twine bow (which went a little askew for the picture) for a finishing touch.

Here's a collage of close-ups:

And here's a look at the frame at home on my husband's desk:

I hope you enjoyed this peek at the From the Notebook. Now hop on over and see what the incredibly talented Cathy Arbuckle has for you at These Eager Hands.
