A Bit of Springtime Mojo

Hi All! Welcome to another Mojo Monday challenge. I just found out that I was one of the lucky winners for the January contest sketch from last week! (You can see the post on that card here, and you can see the other winners here.)  Have to say, I'm pretty stoked about it!

Still, it's a new week and a new challenge, so let's take a look.

Here's my take on the sketch:

Close To My Heart is celebrating National Papercrafting Month with an exclusive set of Picture My Life cards called Live Your Day. They are designed to work well with planners or pocket scrapbooking. I'll show you how I used them with my planner in another post, but for now, I've been wanting to use them in other ways. So the striped paper I used here is actually one of the Live Your Day cards that I cut to fit.

To make the front of this card, I started with a piece of White Daisy cardstock and masked off a circle. I used some of the small floral images from the Woodland Romance stamp set to create a background pattern. The images are second generation stamping using Gypsy, Pixie, Juniper, and Whisper inks. I then layered the front with the striped card.

The sentiment and accent flowers are from the Springtime Wishes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment on vellum in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I rounded the corners and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. I then used the coordinating dies to cut out the floral and leaf images and added them to the vellum to hide the dimensional adhesive. I popped the purple flower up with more dimensional adhesive for interest. I then finished the card off with some seam binding ribbon and sparkles from my stash.

Here are a couple of close ups:

And here it is on my sunny kitchen table. (I had to document the sunshine because it's been such a rarity these days!)

I hope you enjoyed my bit of springtime mojo. Most of the supplies I used are linked below.

Have a wonderful and creative week! And for more ideas on using your Live Your Day stop back by on Friday, January 15th for the Rose Blossom Blog Hop where we'll be featuring Live Your Day.

  1. This is so soft and beautiful, Kim! I love your masked circle with the soft floral stamping! And love the happy stripes added to the side. This is like a burst of spring freshness! Love it!
