I wanted to share a little card I made in response to The Paper Players' challenge this week. Here's the sketch:
And here's my card:
Once again I used a standard A2 base in Colonial White. I cut the Ruby cardstock layer at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches to give a slight border for my patterned paper. I used Close To My Heart's new Frosted paper pack for the patterned papers and the Frosted Stickease assortment for the doily/snowflake accent. To make it more interesting (and sparkly!), I added a strip of Red Shimmer Trim to that awesome chevron pattern paper, and then dotted the doily with red and clear sparkles from my stash. The sentiment is from the new "Yuletide Greetings" stamp set (by Close To My Heart) and is stamped in Ruby Exclusive ink.
Here are a couple of close-ups:
And here is the card once again:
I really enjoyed the simplicity of this sketch. It's perfect for letting the beautiful patterns in this paper shine.
Hope you enjoyed it, too!
Beautiful card, Kim! Great job following the sketch.
