Terrific Tag Tuesday: Merry Christmas!

Hi All! Welcome to the final installment of the Kraft-y Hearts Terrific Tag Tuesday Blog Share. If you haven't already, be sure to hop over and see what the amazingly talented Lynn Darda has to share with you today at From My Bungalow.

Now on to today's project. So when is a tag not a tag? When it's also an envelope! Let's take a look:

So today's tag is fashioned after the library pocket you used to find in the back of books that housed the lending card.

I used heavy black cardstock for both the tag and the card, and rounded the top corners of both. I layered both the tag and the card with papers from Close To My Heart's Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages. Then embellished the tag with black shimmer ribbon and snowflakes cut from white glitter paper. I also added a white eyelet to the top and finished it off with black shimmer ribbon and red and white bakers twine from my stash.

For the card, I added a sentiment to a Happy, Happy Christmas Picture My Life card and attached it to the front of the card. The sentiment is from the Very Merry Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Archival ink. I added a couple of snowflakes to the front that I punched out of white glitter paper.

Here's another look at the front of the card:

To finish off the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Very Merry Stamp Set in Sea Glass ink onto White Daisy cardstock and layered it onto the black base.

Here's another look at the tag with the card:

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this tag-not-a-tag! Now I'm off to make a few more for friends and family. Don't forget to hop over and see what Lynn has for your inspiration at From My Bungalow.

Have a wonderfully creative holiday season!

A Little Merry Midweek Mojo

Hi All! Welcome to a little midweek mojo! It's been awhile since we played along with the folks over at Mojo Monday, but I just couldn't pass up this week's sketch.

Here's my take on it:

I created this card using a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch base created from Kraft Cardstock. For the card front, I layered a 3 3/4 x 5 inch piece of Cranberry cardstock with scraps of patterned paper from the My Crush and Picture My Life Happy, Happy Christmas collections by Close To My Heart. I stamped "Wishing You" on a scrap of a Picture My Life card in New England Ivy Ink, and "Peace" and the ampersand on a Picture My Life card that I cut down to 2 3/4 x 4 inches. "Peace" is stamped in Cranberry Ink and the ampersand is in New England Ivy. For these sentiments, I used the XXX stamp set by Concord & 9th. The gold foiled star is from Close To My Heart's Oh Deer! Complements. I then tied red seam binding ribbon (from my stash) around the card front and added the star and "Wishing You" to it with thin foam tape. I then added the whole thing to the card base using my ATG adhesive.

Here's a collage of close-ups:

And here's the card again:

Hope you enjoyed a this little midweek mojo!

Have a wonderfully creative day!

A Thoughtful (and Magical) Christmas

Hi All! Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring Close To My Heart's December Stamp of the Month: Thoughtful Flowers. If you've just hopped over from the oh-so-talented Shelly Nemitz's blog, Just One Pretty Piece, you're in the right place. (As usual, I'll have a list of participants at the end of the post.)

If you've followed my blog (or any of my social media, really), you've figured out by now that I love flowers and trees. And I love to color. So Thoughtful Flowers is right up my alley!

This would be a beautiful stamp set for creating your own coloring pages or even a few coloring cards to give to your favorite coloring fan. And the images can work anytime of the year--even Christmas.

Let's take a look.

It's Christmas time in the city, so I decided to make a few cards using Thoughtful Flowers and my watercolor pencils. To create this card, I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (I knew I would be cutting it down on the sides) and masked of a 2-inch square in the middle. I then stamped the flower images on the paper in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. After letting the ink dry, I colored the poinsettias with my watercolor pencils and blended the pencil with my waterbrush. I added a little gray to the background around the poinsettias to give them a bit more dimension. I then stamped the greeting from the Season of Magic stamp set in Sea Glass Ink. I cut my panel down to 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 and added it to my White Daisy card base. I added strips of Sea Glass and White glitter papers down the side of the panel to fully cover the front of the card base. To finish the card, I added shimmer to the poinsettias and the word "magic" in the sentiment and then adhered some sequins for a little extra bling. (If you wanted to make this a truly one-layer card, you could forgo the sequins.)

Here's a collage of close-ups of the card:

And here is the card, once again:

I hope you enjoyed this fun little greeting! I have big plans for this stamp set--coloring pages, no-line water color, thank you notes, hello's...the wheels are turning. So stay tuned!

In the meantime, hop on over and see what the fabulous Ginger Morriello has in store for you at Create With Ginger.

As promised, here's a list of participants in this month's hop:
