Cultivating Happy!

Hi All! Just wanted to share a little card I created from a coloring piece I did earlier in the month for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge (#thedailymarker30day). I've been posting my coloring on Instagram, which you can see here.

Let's take a look at the card:

This medallion is from Close To My Heart's Ornate Blossoms stamp set. I stamped it on Pearl Shimmering Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my Copic markers.

The card is a 3 1/2 x 5-inch top folding base cut from White Daisy cardstock. I cut the shaker frame from White Daisy using dies from the Stitched Rectangles Stax by My Favorite Things. I added gold dot acetate from We R Memory keepers to the frame to make the window. After I added foam tape to all four sides of the window, I filled it with heart glitter by Martha Stewart Crafts. I then added it to the card base and popped the medallion on top with more foam tape.

Here's a look at the medallion up close. The picture on the right is my attempt to show the shimmer of the paper:

I stamped the inside greeting in the same Memento ink using a stamp from the Bitty Birthday set by Close To My Heart. Here's a look:

And finally, one last look at the card:

This coloring challenge has been a lot of fun! There's still time left to join in. It's a great way to spend a little time relaxing and creating each day.

Have a wonderfully creative week!

  1. Oh, what an amazing card, Kim! That shaker is just SO fun! Love that you made the window from dotted acetate, as that just adds a whole other dimension to the shaker. And that medallion is fabulous! And brilliantly colored!

  2. Lovely! Those colors are so rich and your coloring always amazes me! Love the idea of using the acetate printed sheet for the window. I may try that if I can bare to cut my new ones, lol.
