Cultivating Happy!

Hi All! Just wanted to share a little card I created from a coloring piece I did earlier in the month for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge (#thedailymarker30day). I've been posting my coloring on Instagram, which you can see here.

Let's take a look at the card:

This medallion is from Close To My Heart's Ornate Blossoms stamp set. I stamped it on Pearl Shimmering Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my Copic markers.

The card is a 3 1/2 x 5-inch top folding base cut from White Daisy cardstock. I cut the shaker frame from White Daisy using dies from the Stitched Rectangles Stax by My Favorite Things. I added gold dot acetate from We R Memory keepers to the frame to make the window. After I added foam tape to all four sides of the window, I filled it with heart glitter by Martha Stewart Crafts. I then added it to the card base and popped the medallion on top with more foam tape.

Here's a look at the medallion up close. The picture on the right is my attempt to show the shimmer of the paper:

I stamped the inside greeting in the same Memento ink using a stamp from the Bitty Birthday set by Close To My Heart. Here's a look:

And finally, one last look at the card:

This coloring challenge has been a lot of fun! There's still time left to join in. It's a great way to spend a little time relaxing and creating each day.

Have a wonderfully creative week!

Let's Celebrate!

Hi all! Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring our favorite Close To My Heart Cricut cartridges. If you've just come from the oh-so-talented Marg Van Patten's blog, I Didn't Have Potatoes, you're in the right place. If you're starting with me or get lost along the way, I'll have a list of hop participants at the end of this post.

In honor of Close To My Heart's "Baby, I'm Worth It" consultant sign up campaign, the Rose Blossoms are featuring projects that you can make with the CTMH Cricut cartridges. So I thought I'd showcase a little birthday card/gift card holder I made for my daughter's birthday this week. Let's take a look:

She's my kind o' Peep

Hi All! I have a fun little shaker card card to share with you today featuring Simon Says Stamp's My Kind of Peeps stamp set and coordinating dies. Let's take a look:

I created this card to celebrate my daughter returning home after spending 10 days in Paris with her 8th grade classmates. She's a HUGE Peeps fan, so this set was PERFECT! The wee peeps are stamped on Close To My Heart's White Daisy cardstock in CTMH Crystal Blue, Pear, Thistle, Canary, and Pixie inks. The large peep is stamped in Thistle ink on White Daisy cardstock and then sprinkled with Diamond glitter by Ranger. The patterned paper is from Simon Says Stamp's March card kit, and the Pixie Pink cardstock is by Close to My Heart. I embossed the cardstock using the CTMH Confetti embossing folder. I then flipped the cardstock so the debossed side was facing up. For the shaker, I added a variety of colors of iridescent hearts by Martha Stewart and part of the yellow sequin mix that came with the card kit. I then added a little gold thread under the larger Peep for some extra shine and popped my sentiment (stamped in Pear and Thistle inks) under that.

Here's a collage of close ups:

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed this little homage to one of my favorite Peeps! (I'm so glad she's home!)

Have a fabulously creative week!
