Hi All! Just thought I'd share a couple of treat boxes I made for the the kids to wish them a Happy Valentine's Day.
To create these fun little boxes, I used papers from the old Adventure Fundamentals collection by Close To My Heart. (The heart pattern is now retired.) I love the weight of the Fundamentals papers. It's almost as heavy as cardstock, so it's great for treat boxes. I cut my paper to 8 1/2 x 5 inches, and scored the 8 1/2-inch side at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches. I then rotated my paper 90 degrees and scored the 5-inch side at 1 1/2, 2, and 4 1/2 inches. I folded along all the score lines, burnishing each line with my bone folder. Then, holding the paper horizontally with the half-inch score line at the top, I cut off the little 1 1/2 x 1/2-inch rectangle at the bottom right corner and then cut up each of the score lines along the bottom stopping at the 1 1/2 inch line. I added Tombow Xtreme adhesive along the edge of the right hand side of the box and adhered the left edge to the right. I used the same adhesive to close up the bottom flaps. I then added my candy, pinched the top closed, punched a couple of holes and added my White & Gold ribbon to tie the box closed.
I wanted to add a little extra something to the box, so I cut out a couple of hearts from White Daisy cardstock and some scraps of the fundamentals paper using the My Anchor Thin Cut dies. I stamped a little greeting on the white heart using a sentiment from the Share the Love stamp set and Cranberry ink. I added a strip of White Shimmer Trim for some bling and popped the hearts up with dimensional adhesive. (I also added Liquid Glass to the red heart for a little extra shine.)
