I've been wanting to make today's projects for a very long time, and just hadn't gotten around to it. The pattern comes from the book Entertaining Ideas From Williamsburg. Let's take a look:
These little hearts were woven together out of Hollyhock, Cranberry and Cream cardstocks from my stash. Each is made up of 8 strips of cardstock cut at 1/8 x 3 1/4 inches. The final heart is about 2 inches wide at its widest point.
The make sweet little ornaments for my wee tree (which is what I've always wanted to try)! The book gives measurements for creating small (the one above), medium and large versions. I was wanting to hang something in our big bay-front window that wouldn't look too cheesy, so I decided to give the medium size a try.
As you can see, the medium is significantly bigger than the small, but it's perfect for my windowpanes. To make this size, the strips of cardstock are cut at 1/4 x 6 inches.
Here it is in my window:
After seeing how cute they were, I decided to make enough to create a heart on the window:
Hope you enjoyed my little heart on a string! See you tomorrow as our countdown continues….
Pretty, pretty, pretty!
