Another Magical Little Box

Hi All! Here is the FINAL treat that I gave to my friends at convention! This is a treat box that requires no adhesive at all. I was inspired by this project. So let's take a look:

These little boxes are made with Black cardstock that I matted with Magical paper. For the embellishments, I stamped circles from the So Many Smiles stamp set in Crystal Blue ink on White Daisy cardstock and punched them out with 3/4-inch and 1-inch circle punches. I then arranged them on the front reminiscent of that Mouse we all know and love, and added a bow to some of the boxes as well.

I added a little thumb notch to the back to make it easier to open. Here's a look at it when it's completely opened:

The key to this box is that it opens on at both ends and has that extra flap on the right that wraps around the front. When you close the ends, the flap is secured in place, no adhesive required! Pretty cool! Anyway, these boxes were sized specifically to hold a "Cutie Bar" of soap from Herbaria. Which you can see here:

A quick word about Herbaria (with which I am in no way affiliated). Herbaria is a small soap manufacturer that I ran across on a recent trip to St. Louis. Everything is made in small batches using all natural ingredients. I got to tour the facility and chat with the friendly folks there, which was fun. But, frankly, I was sold on the soaps after using them. As a crafter and artist, I am scrubbing my hands all the time, and the soaps I used dried them out. These soaps don't. It's as simple as that. So I thought I'd share my good fortune with my crafty friends, hence the gifties. :)

A Magical "Bless YOU!"

Hi All! Welcome back to another project from my convention treat bag featuring the Magical Collection. This is a box I made to house a pack of tissues. I found some cute little packs of tissues at my local craft that all opened at the end of the package rather than in the middle. So I decided to make a box that opened on the end so that you could leave the packaging intact and still get to the tissues. Here's the box:

I've made tissue boxes before that open in the middle, but this box is much more versatile. Since it opens on the end, you could really put anything you want in it.

The box is made from Sapphire cardstock that is matted with Magical paper. I kept the embellishment on the front fairly flat so that the box could go in and out of a bag with relative ease. The banners are cut from Magical paper and zip strips. The sentiment and circles are from the So Many Smiles stamp set. I stamped everything on White Daisy cardstock in Crystal Blue, Honey, and Whisper inks. Finally, I added a little bow of White & God ribbon.

A Little Magical Sweetness

Hi All! Just thought I'd share some more projects featuring Close To My Heart's Magical Collection. 

Last month, Close To My Heart held its North America convention at Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort. I attended along with several friends. (Much fun was had by all!) I decided to make some little gift bags for my friends and fill them with Magical goodness. Here's a look at two of the containers I made and filled with candy:

The little blue bag is made from Magical paper and closed by tucking the flap behind the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Little Presents stamp set. I stamped it in Cranberry ink on White Daisy cardstock and punched it out using a 1-inch circle punch. I then punched a 1 1/4-inch circle from the yellow and white polka dot paper. I popped both up with foam tape, making sure to put the tape toward the bottom of the yellow circle so that the flap could tuck behind it. (I filled it with 6 Hershey Kisses.)

The box is made from White Daisy cardstock and matted with Magical paper. (The red and white polka dot pattern is my favorite!) I had originally filled it with Jolly Rancher candies, but my kids consumed my leftovers, so I show it below with Hershey Kisses. (It could also hold a lipstick or possibly nail polish.) I added a little decoration to the box using white twine and a sentiment from the retired Friendly Wishes stamp set.

A Magical Little Note Holder

Nothing says summer vacation quite like bold, bright colors. The Magical Collection is perfect for capturing your summer memories from Independence Day celebrations to family vacations. (And if you happen to be vacationing at the Happiest Place on Earth, well this collection is PERFECT.) Take a look:

Am I right?! While I do have some photos reserved for a couple of Magical layouts, today's project is not about memory-keeping. Instead it's about gift-giving. Or at least having a quick note on hand when you find yourself in gift-giving mode.

This is a little cardbox easel that I made to hold six 3 x 3-inch notecards and their envelopes. (It could hold up to 10 cards and envelopes depending on thick the cards are.) I was inspired by this project, but made a number of changes, including the dimensions. (It still holds a couple of 3 x 3 post-it note pads though.)

Anyway, I made the easel from 110 lb. Neenah solar white cardstock, which is extra heavy and withstands extra wear and tear. I then matted the inside and front of both sides using Magical paper. I then blinged up both sides using Gold Shimmer Trim, White & Gold ribbon, and a stamp from the July Stamp Of The Month set: From the Notebook. I stamped "super" on White Daisy cardstock in Cranberry ink and punched it out with a 1-inch circle punch. I then punched out a 1 1/4-inch circle from Sapphire cardstock. I popped up both layers with foam tape and went to work on the cards.

For the cards, I cut six 6 x 3-inch bases from White Daisy cardstock and folded them in half to make 3 x 3-inch notecard. I then layered each base with Sapphire cardstock with Magical paper. For the sentiments, I stamped the tag stamp from the July Stamp Of The Month in Sapphire ink on White Daisy cardstock. Using stamps from the retired Live, Laugh, Love stamp set, I then added "Thank You" and "For You" sentiments to the tags in Cranberry ink. I finished the notes off with White & Gold ribbon (attached with my Mini Stapler) and flowers and glitter gems from my stash.
