Hi All! Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring Close To My Heart's February Stamp Of The Month: A Happy Hello. If you just hopped over from the blog of the fabulous Shelly Nemitz, you're in the right place. If you're just joining in, there is a list of participants at the end of this post.
Today is my beautiful sister's birthday, [HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRIS!!!] so naturally I have a birthday card for you. The good thing about having my sister's card as my project is that I had to send it out early so that she would receive it before I posted. (I'm notorious for...shall we say...stretching the birthday celebration out a bit...)
So let's take a look:
The base and stamped layers of this card are made from Colonial White cardstock. I used the awesome A Happy Hello stamp set to create my own patterned paper, stamping the images in Thistle, Pixie, Sorbet, and Sweet Leaf Exclusive Inks. I layered the patterned paper on Thistle cardstock to make it pop. I added strips of Gold Shimmer Trim for a little sparkle and tied the layer with Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon.
The "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment is from the You Mean the World to Me stamp set. (This is a supper versatile stamp set for cardmaking.) I stamped the sentiment on Colonial White cardstock using Thistle Exclusive Ink and then masked it off with another piece of cardstock in order to stamp around it. I used the same colors of ink as I had used in the base paper, but different images from the A Happy Hello. I layered the sentiment on Thistle cardstock and popped the whole thing up with dimensional adhesive. Finally, I added some Clear Sparkles for an extra bit of bling.
