Welcome to 2017!

Hi All! Happy New Year! I just wanted to pop in and share a little welcome wreath I made to hang in our entry way. It was super easy to put together using Close To My Heart's limited edition Welcome Home wreath kit.

Let's take a look:

The wreath base is made from extra-heavy, pre-cut chipboard that you layer with pre-cut paper. All of the succulents, flowers, and greenery pieces are also pre-cut and waiting for you to pop out and put together. I inked around the edges of all of my pieces before I layered them together. I used liquid glass to layer the pieces and my quilling tool to curl some of the edges. I also used my quilling tool to create the roses, which I decided to leave completely white.

To assemble the wreath, I attached the pattern paper over the wreath form. Then, using liquid glass, I added the banner a little off-set, and then added my flowers, beginning with  the roses. I attached the succulents from largest to smallest and then filled in spaces with greenery. Once all of the florals were attached, I added my sentiment with gold stickers that are included in the kit. I also added gold glitter gems and pearls from my stash to the center of the succulents for some extra pizazz.

Here's a collage of close-ups of the flowers:

And here is the wreath hanging in our entry way:

It's such a cheery piece to welcome our family and guests home each day! This limited edition kit is available through the month of January to celebrate National Papercrafting Month.

Have a wonderfully creative day! And HAPPY 2017!

Welcome Home

Hi All! I have a little card to share with you today that I made for visitors at my church. Our current theme is "You are home." It's all about being part of a community. So in addition to the little gift we regularly give visitors, we are going to tuck in a little note. I thought the Welcome Home sentiment from Close To My Heart's Housewarming Hello stamp set was perfect for this project.

So let's take a look at the card:

At 3 1/2 x 5 inches, this is a smaller than standard notecard that I cut from White Daisy cardstock. I stamped "Welcome Home" in Sunset ink. For the panel, I layered Pear cardstock with patterned paper from the Penelope collection. I stamped the house image in Sapphire ink. The green banner is the backside of the blue striped paper, and the yellow floral banner is made from the zip strip at the top of the paper sheet. I punched the hearts out of white glitter paper that is part of the CTMH Gold Glitter paper pack, and colored one with my ShinHan Golden Yellow marker. I adhered them to the card (and each other) with Liquid Glass.

Here's a collage of close-ups:

I hope you like this little card. The house image is fun to color and the little flower is great for accents.

And if you happen to be in DC on a Sunday, pop in to National Community Church--Georgetown and say hello!

Meanwhile, have a wonderfully creative day!
