Thankful Thursday

Hi All! So I've been thinking about doing a regular feature on Violets & Sunshine called "Thankful Thursday" that focuses on projects of gratitude--think thank you notes, gratitude journals, etc. And what better way to start off than with  The Paper Players theme challenge: "Thankful for Spring" thank you cards.

Here's my card:

I love the simplicity of this card! I started with a kraft cardstock base that measures 5 1/2 x 4 inches. I added paper from the Front Porch 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles and then adhered the chipboard sentiment (from Pebbles' From Me To You line). I love the spring colors in this!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here is our card once again:

Oh I am so thankful that spring is coming and that the sun was shining today! I hope this card put a little spring in your step. (Yes, I know, you don't have to be thankful for bad puns...)  Please let me know what you think about the Thankful Thursday idea.

A Little Stash Bustin' Mojo

Hi Folks! Thought I'd play along with the crew over at Mojo Monday again this week. I actually had this card made on Monday (imagine that), but then the snow came. Again. And, well, when we have snow days around here nothing really gets done, including (but not limited to) blogging. Now that the kids are back in school, it's time to get back to work.

For this sketch, I decided to bust out the stash and see what I could make. Here's the result:

Can you tell I'm kinda done with winter? The flowered paper, chipboard elements, and "thank you" sticker are from the From Me To You line by Pebbles. The Polaroid-style frame is by Heidi Swapp. The text and ledger background papers are also from Pebbles, but are from their Front Porch 6x6 paper pad. "hello sunshine" is from a retired Close To My Heart stamp set. I used Worn Lipstick and Tea Dye Distress inks for the sentiment and the edges of the paper, and added some Stickles to the flower chip for a little bling.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here's another look:

For all of you who are still gazing out at snow-covered streets and lawns, I hope this brightens your day just a bit! Stay warm and don't forget: spring will be here March 21 whether the weather cooperates or not!
