Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share Day 3: Not Just for Valentine's Day

Celebrating Close To My Heart's January Stamp Of The Month: Happy Valentine's Day

Hi All! Welcome to Day 3 of the Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share for the January SOTM: Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you've been inspired over the last few days!

So today, I wanted to show how versatile this stamp can be, so I used it in conjunction with the Avonlea Card Workshop On The Go stamp set. (That set will also retire at the end of the month, so you want to act quickly to get it!)

This A2 card was made with Whisper cardstock and stamped in Whisper Exclusive Ink using the small rose image. I cut a piece of Lagoon cardstock 1-inch smaller than the base (which makes it 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches) and again used the tone-on-tone stamping technique with Lagoon Exclusive Ink. The White Daisy cardstock layer is cut at 3 inches square. The sentiment and edge stamps are from the Avonlea Card Workshop On The Go, and are stamped in Ruby Exclusive Ink. It seemed a little bare, so I added a rose in the corner in Whisper Exclusive Ink. Finally, I used small and medium Opaque Pearl Gems to add a little elegance and Color-Ready Seam Binding for texture.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I hope you have enjoyed our Kraft-y Heart Blog Share and are inspired to go out and create something beautiful today. Remember, the Happy Valentine's Day stamp set and the Avonlea Card Workshop On The Go are only available through 31 January. If you are interested in purchasing either or both, visit me here.

Now hop on over to From My Bungalow to be inspired by the über-talented Kraft-y girl, Lynn Darda!

Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share Day 2: A Little Smitten

Celebrating Close To My Heart's January Stamp Of The Month: Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Friends! Welcome to Day 2 of the Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's project. Today's card is a little 4 x 4-inch easel.

For this card, I used a combination of Kraft and Ruby cardstocks. I stamped the Kraft papers with the January SOTM using Desert Sand Exclusive Ink. "Smitten" is stamped in Ruby Exclusive Ink, matted on Ruby cardstock and popped up with dimensional adhesive. Small and medium Opaque Pearl Gems add just a little oomph to the color palette.

Here's a close-up of the card front:

For the inside, I used Ruby Exclusive Ink on the sentiment and off-centered it a bit for interest. I also created the layers for the easel from Ruby and Kraft cardstock to mimic the front. I added a second sentiment to the easel layer, again using Ruby Exclusive Ink. Small pearls add a little extra pizzaz.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the inside:

And here it is in all its easel splendor!

I hope you enjoyed my little bit of smitten. Don't forget, the January Stamp Of The Month: Happy Valentine's Day can be purchased for just $5.00 with a qualifying purchase of $50 or more. Or, if you'd rather purchase it alone, it can be yours for just $17.95. (A great deal either way!)

Make sure you stop by From My Bungalow and see what the fabulously talented Lynn Darda is up to!

Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share Day 1: My Rosy Little Valentine

Celebrating Close To My Heart's January Stamp Of The Month:
Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Friends! Welcome to Day 1 of our Kraft-y Hearts blog share. If you haven't visited her yet, you will definitely want to hop over and see what the super-talented Lynn has whipped up at From My Bungalow.

My first project is a Valentine's Day card using the triple-layer stamping technique. (You can find tutorials on this simple technique all over the blogosphere. I think it's a great technique when you're looking for something that will give you lots of bang for your buck!)

The card base and cardstock layers were made with Hollyhock cardstock. The stamped layers are White Daisy cardstock. I actually combined a couple techniques here. In addition to triple-layer stamping, I used generational stamping to achieve a multi hue look. All of the roses, however, are stamped in Hollyhock Exclusive Ink. The lighter roses are second generation stamps (that is, the second impression made with the stamp before re-inking it). The sentiment is stamped in Ruby Exclusive Ink on White Daisy cardstock and layered on Hollyhock. I popped it up using dimensional adhesive, rounded the corners with a scalloped corner rounder and added some Hollyhock sparkles from the Red, Pink and Purple Sparkles assortment. A little Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon adds an extra flourish.

Here's a close-up:

I hope you enjoyed my rosy little valentine. Don't forget, the January Stamp Of The Month: Happy Valentine's Day can be purchased for just $5.00 with a qualifying purchase of $50 or more. Or, if you'd rather purchase it alone, it can be yours for just $17.95. (A great deal either way!)

Don't forget to visit Lynn Darda at From My Bungalow to be inspired by her kraft-y goodness!

See you tomorrow!
