A KISS of Inspiration Day 7: Joy-filled Wishes

Hi All! Welcome to Day 7 and the final installment of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas KISS Blog Share for 2014. If you've been following along with us all week, you've been treated to some holiday inspiration derived from sketches found in Make It From Your Heart, vol 1 and a variety of stamp sets by Close To My Heart. If you've been commenting here and/or on the lovely Lynn Darda's blog, From My Bungalow, then you are entered to win the awesome Handwritten Print Alphabet stamp set! Now on with the share....

Today's card was inspired by sketch 23 on page 44 of Make It From Your Heart, vol 1. I mixed stamps from the Noel and Flakey Friends stamp sets that I used on yesterday's card and Wednesday's card respectively. Here it is:

The card base today is Colonial White Cardstock inked with Desert Sand Exclusive Ink. In fact, all layers in this card were inked in Desert Sand. The patterned paper quilt blocks are made using Yuletide Carol paper. I inked up the snowflake stamp from Flakey Friends with VersaMark Ink and stamped the Kraft Cardstock squares. I then heat embossed them with gold embossing powder and adhered them to the card. I added a ribbon cut from New England Ivy Cardstock to the front of the card with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment from the Noel stamp set is stamped in VersaMark Ink on Kraft Cardstock and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. I then layered it on Yuletide Carol paper and popped the layers on top of the New England Ivy using dimensional adhesive. Finally, I added a bow from the Cranberry Striped Twill Ribbon for a pop of color.

Here are some close-ups:

And here's the card, one more time (I think this might be my favorite....):

I really hope you enjoyed our blog share this week. It's been fun being inspired by Make It From Your Heart, and I hope it's been inspiring for you. Now hop on over and see Lynn's gorgeous creation, and don't forget to enter to win your stamp set!

A KISS of Inspiration Day 6: Joyeux Noel!

Hi All! Merry Christmas French-style! It's Day 6 of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas KISS Blog Share. I can't believe there's only one more day to go. This week is flying by, but then again you know how time flies when you're having fun, and blog shares are always a blast!

So the inspiration for today's card is sketch 29 on page 47 in Make It From Your Heat, vol 1 and the Noel stamp set.

The base of the card is cut from Kraft Cardstock. The music paper is from the Yuletide Carol paper pack, and is inked with Desert Sand Exclusive Ink. The gold strip is actually Gold Shimmer Trim. (Love it!) The sentiment is stamped on Colonial White Cardstock in New England Ivy Exclusive Ink. I popped it up on layers of New England Ivy and Ruby Cardstocks using regular dimensional adhesive. All of the cardstock layers are also inked in Desert Sand. I embellished the sentiment with metallic bakers twine, and added Gold Bling Gems for...well...bling.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here, once again, is the card:

A KISS of Inspiration Day 5: God Jul!

Hi All and a big Norwegian "Merry Christmas!" Welcome to Day 5 of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas Kiss Blog Share. Today's project has a bit of a Nordic overtone, so I couldn't resist a little "God Jul!" Now on with the show.....

The inspiration for today's card comes from sketch 25 on page 45 of Make It From Your Heart, vol.1 and the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop On The Go stamp set. Let's take a look:

I love Kraft and Red together, so this card is made from Kraft Cardstock and layered with White Daisy Cardstock and patterned paper from the Snowhaven paper pack. The sentiment is stamped on White Daisy Cardstock in Slate Exclusive Ink. To add a little color and interest to the sentiment, I stamped snowflakes from the stamp set in second generation Slate and Cranberry Exclusive Inks using the "stamping off" method. (You stamp the first impression on a scrap piece of cardstock and the second impression on your project so that you have a lighter shade of ink. You could do a third stamping for an even lighter tone if you wanted.) I added Slate Diagonal Striped Ribbon and popped the sentiment up with dimensional adhesive.  Finally, I added Silver Sequins to the card for a little more flair.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here is the card once again:

A KISS of Inspiration Day 4: Me & My Flakey Friends....

Hi All! Welcome to day 4 of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas KISS blog share. The inspiration for today's project comes from sketch 24 on page 44 in Make It From Your Heart, vol 1 and the Flakey Friends stamp set. Let's take a look:

The base of card is the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches and is cut from Kraft Cardstock. For the layers, I used patterned paper from the Snowhaven paper pack, White Daisy Cardstock, and more Kraft Cardstock. The horizontal layer is cut from Glacier Cardstock. I used Glacier Exclusive Ink and the snowflake stamps from Flakey Friends to create a tone-on-tone strip of patterned cardstock, and layered it with some retired chevron ribbon. The sentiment and snowman layers are popped up with both regular and thin dimensional adhesive to give the layers more visual interest. I stamped the sentiment in Glacier Exclusive Ink.The snowman is stamped in Black Stāz-On Ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I then used my water brush with a variety of exclusive inks to color him in. Finally, I added some Red Enamel Hearts to give the card a little extra somethin'.

A KISS of Inspiration Day 3: Hark the Herald!

Hi All! Welcome to Day 3 of the Kraft-y Hearts' KISS Blog Share. If you haven't been over to Lynn's Blog, From My Bungalow, yet, you'll want to make sure to stop by. She has a fantastic give away for you!

Meanwhile, here's a look at today's bit of inspiration:

Folks, if you haven't picked up a copy of Make It From Your Heart vol. 1 (or 2), I would so encourage you to do it. These books are full of inspirational sketches that make creating beautiful cards and layouts a snap.

Today's card is inspired by sketch 21 on page 43 in Make It From Your Heart, vol 1., and the Sing Glory hostess stamp set. The card base is a standard size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches in Colonial White cardstock. The pattern papers are from the Yuletide Carol paper pack and are layered on top of New England Ivy cardstock. I inked around all of the layers with Champagne Exclusive Ink to make the card feel a little more vintage. I then stamped the angel in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed her using gold embossing powder. I cut out part of her arm and trumpet to give her a more dimensional look, and popped the layers up using regular dimensional adhesive. The sentiment is stamped in Cranberry Exclusive Ink and popped up on thin dimensional adhesive so that it fits nicely under the angel.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here's one more look at the card:

Now hop on over to see what the oh-so-talented Lynn Darda has in store for you, and leave a comment so that you can enter to win her awesome give-away.

KISS of Inspiration: Day Two...Frosty the Snowman...

Hi All! Welcome to Day Two of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas KISS blog share. Today's inspiration comes from page 46 of Make It From Your Heart, vol 1 and the Christmas Post stamp set. Let's take a look:

The card base is a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, and is cut from Colonial White cardstock. I used patterned papers from the Yuletide Carol paper pack for the base layer on the card front. All layers are inked around the edges with Cashmere Exclusive ink to give them an antiqued, slightly distressed look. The sentiment banner is cut from Colonial White cardstock and layered on Ruby cardstock. The sentiment itself is stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed using gold embossing powder. It's popped up with dimensional adhesive.

The snowman is sitting atop layers of Colonial White and Ruby cardstocks, tan (gold) glitter paper, and Yuletide Carol paper, which is popped up on the glitter paper with dimensional adhesive. I stamped the snowman on White Daisy cardstock using black Stāz-On ink and then heat embossed him with clear embossing powder. I then used my water brush and various Exclusive inks to color him in. (You could also use the ShinHan Touch Twin alcohol ink markers, but I wanted a softer look on this card.) I then fussy cut him and popped him up using dimensional adhesive.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here is the card one more time:

I hope you were inspired by today's card. Tune in tomorrow for more inspiration.

And now hop on over and see what the incredibly inspiring Lynn Darda has for you at From My Bungalow.

A KISS of Inspiration...and a Little Sneak Peek

Hi All! Welcome to Day One of the Kraft-y Hearts Christmas KISS blog share. For the next 7 days, the Kraft-y Hearts are bringing you a little Christmas card goodness inspired by stamps and sketches from Close To My Heart. Today's project, however, takes it one step further by providing you with a sneak peek from the new Seasonal Expressions catalog, which will be released TOMORROW! (Woo HOO!!!)

So on with the show!

Today's card sketch can be found on page 42 in Make It From Your Heart, vol 1. The card base is a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches and is cut from Colonial White cardstock. The base for each panel is from Glacier cardstock. The paper for the panels is from the brand-spankin'-new Hopscotch collection that will be available starting tomorrow. This collection is the perfect marriage of beauty and whimsy. LOVE IT!

The packages and sentiment stamps are from the Make It Merry stamp set. I stamped the packages on Colonial White cardstock in Flaxen, Glacier, Pixie and Hollyhock Exclusive inks. I then fussy cut them and covered them in Liquid Glass to give them extra dimension and shine. When they were dry (yes, that's right...let'em dry...), I popped them up on each panel with dimensional adhesive.
For the sentiment, I used the retired 2-inch scalloped circle punch by Close To My Heart to punch out a circle from Colonial White and Glacier cardstocks. I stamped the sentiment in Ponderosa Pine Exclusive ink, offset the Colonial White scalloped circle over the Glacier scalloped circle using dimensional adhesive, and then popped the whole thing up with dimensional adhesive as well.

Here are some close-ups:

And here it is one more time:

Hope you enjoyed this little KISS of inspiration. Now hop on over to From My Bungalow and see what the fabulously talented Lynn Darda has in store for you! Oh, and don't forget to join us tomorrow for more inspiration!
