Happy Times Friday!

Hi All! Welcome to another installment of Friday Focus. Today we're looking at the Happy Times paper pack by Close To My Heart. This is a limited edition paper pack that has been released to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, and is free with every $60 purchase.

I decided to showcase some of the papers by making a few cards. (Shocker, I know...) I paired the papers up with the new Beyond Awesome stamp set. (LOVE. this. set.) So lets take a look:

All of the card bases are Neenah 110 pound white cardstock cut to 7 x 5 inches and scored at 3 1/2 inches to make a top-folding 4 bar note card. The above example shows two of the beautiful foiled papers in the Happy Times pack. (The diagonal striped paper is the zip strip from the large gold striped paper, which I am featuring on another project on Sunday.) I used VersaMark ink to stamp my sentiment on vellum and then heat embossed it in white. I hid a little dimensional adhesive behind the "awesome" banner to give it some lift. The gold foil brings all the bling this card needs.

Love the floral and polkadots on this card. I broke up the layers with a little White Daisy cardstock. The plaid strip is cut from the zip strip at the top of the page. I stamped the sentiment in Sorbet and Canary inks on White Daisy cardstock. I then fussy cut the arrow sentiment and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.

These next two cards feature the front and back of one of the floral sheets along with the zip strip from the same sheet. I used Canary and Juniper inks on White Daisy cardstock for the sentiments and changed them up a little for each card.

(I think this is my favorite sentiment in the whole set. It reminds me of so many of my friends!)

Finally, this card is showcasing one of the 2 ombre sheets in the collection. The ombre begins with a sorbet color and ends in magenta. It's absolutely gorgeous! The back side is the mint green stripe you see in the layers. I stamped the sentiment in Sorbet ink on White Daisy cardstock and added some giant clear sparkles I had in my stash.

Here's a look at the cards together:

Hope you enjoyed this look at Happy Times. Be sure to hop on over and see what inspiring things Lynn has for you at From My Bungalow. And don't forget to stop back by on Sunday for the Rose Blossom Blog Hop. There are a lot more Happy Times to come!

Have a wonderfully creative weekend!

The Rose Blossom Blog Hop...Where Being Framed Is A Good Thing....

Hi All! Welcome to the first Rose Blossom Blog Hop for the month of August. (That's right, August! The summer is flying by!) Today we're featuring Close To My Heart's August Stamp of the Month: Framed. (Oh the puns were flying when I was writing this...)

If you just hopped over from Shelly's inspiring blog, Just One Pretty Piece, you're on the right path. If you're just starting with me, I'll have a full list of blog participants at the end of the post. So on with today's project!

"Framed" is a fantastic stamp set for card makers, so today I'm bringing you a little card set that I crafted. Here's a look at the portfolio that is created from Kraft Cardstock. I layered inside and out with Ponderosa Pine cardstock and the coordinating paper from the Paper Fundamentals Enchantment Assortment pack. Then I looped a little hemp twine from my stash and tucked it under the Colonial White cardstock tag that I made from the Framed stamp set. I used Ponderosa Pine and Desert Sand inks for stamping. Finally I added some Gold Sequins layered with brown sparkles for a little extra bling.

Here's a close-up of the embellishment and a look at the portfolio when opened:

This portfolio holds nine cards and 10 envelopes. (Don't know about you, but I always need an extra envelope....) There are three each of three designs, with each card using a different color of paper from the Paper Fundamentals Enchantment Assortment pack that is layered on a Kraft cardstock base. I stamped the frame in matching ink and the sentiments in Dessert Sand on Colonial White cardstock. Let's take a look:

Here are the thank you notes in Smokey Plum, New England Ivy, and Autumn Terracotta. I added a little flag embellishment of matching paper with the mini stapler, as you can see below:

Here are the birthday cards in Outdoor Denim, Olive, and Barn Red. And here's a look at the embellishment:

And here are the thinking of you cards in Indian Corn Blue, Goldrush, and Ruby. As you can see, I couldn't decide how I wanted the extra splash of color to be positioned. Here's the close-up:

And here's one last look at the whole set:

I hope you enjoyed this little project of mine. Now hop on over and see what the amazingly talented Morgan has created for your inspiration at Tweet Scraps. And if you get lost along the way, here is a list of blog participants:

And, by way of a heads up, the Enchantment palette is going through an overhaul, so if you love these colors, you'll want to snap them up this month. On September 1st, we will unveil the new Idea Book, and with it, seven (7) new Enchantment colors that will replace seven of the existing ones! (

Say Anything....with a card

Hi All! Welcome to the April Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring Close To My Heart's FABULOUS April Stamp Of The Month: Typed Note. I love the vintage feel of this stamp set and the typewriter font will work with so many other stamp sets, too.

If you just hopped over from the talented Shelly Nemitz's blog, you're in the right place. I'll have a list of blog participants at the end of this post, if you're just starting with me or if you get lost along the way.

Now, on to the project!

I've been on a bit of a clean and simple kick in my card making of late, and this latest card set might be the  ultimate example of that style. It features über simple, single layer cards that I created using the fantastic vintage typewriter image in the Typed Note set.

For these cards, I stamped the image on a standard White Daisy card base, using the rainbow of ink colors in the CTMH Adventure Color Palette (Gypsy, Pacifica, Lagoon, Topiary, Pear, Honey, Sunset, Cotton Candy, Hollyhock, and Cranberry). As you can see, I left the page in the typewriter blank. I plan to go back and add sentiments as I need them (hence the post title "Say Anything...). Typed Note is perfect for that. In fact, I have used 3 of these cards already and stamped sentiments on them using my favorite Archival Black Ink. These two were for a couple of good friends of mine:

Color: Cotton Candy
Color: Pear
And I gave this one to my son when he returned home from his class trip to France:

Color: Topiary

Here's a look at the inside:

Typed Note has so many different sentiments for so many different occasions that I find myself reaching for it over and over for card-making. And I like have some "pre-made" cards on hand that I can quickly customize for any occasion.

I hope you were inspired by this little card set. Remember the Stamp Of The Month can be purchased by itself at the regular D-set price of $17.95 or can be added to your order of $50 or more for just $5. Now hop on over and see what the fantastic and inspiring Morgan Vogt has in store for you!

And if you get lost along the way, here's a list of the blog participants to make life a little easier:
