Valentine Countdown: A Valentine Surprise!

Hi All! Welcome once again to Violet & Sunshine's Countdown to Valentine's Day. I can't believe there's just three more days left! Looks like it's time to press my kiddos into service so that we can get all the class and friend Valentines made. Luckily, the weatherman says they'll be at home tomorrow! ;-)

So I've been wanting to make today's project since I saw the tutorial for it on the SplitcoastStampers Blog. It's a surprise card that goes from this...

Love it! This one is being used as a little Valentine's Day decoration, but since it folds flat I could mail it to a friend (for a little extra postage, I'm sure).

Isn't this fun?! It would be great for a birthday or other special greeting. (Hmmm…nieces' graduations perhaps….) It also works as a nice centerpiece for a little celebration.

Valentine Countdown: 13 Days…..

Hi All! Welcome to our Countdown to Valentine's Day. It's 13 days and counting! So what do you think of the purple glittery goodness on today's calendar? That's the new Purple Shimmer Trim that Close To My Heart is offering in their Spring/Summer Catalog (that just went live yesterday, by the way). Sparkle and purple…What's not to love?!

Today's project is a very simple little Valentine card that features Close To My Heart's February Stamp of the Month: Wild About Love.

I'm sending my family some Valentine's Day gifts, so I wanted a simple card to go with it. The base of the card is cut at 51/2 x 4 inches from Kraft Cardstock. The fox is stamped in Saddle Exclusive ink and the hearts and "Love" are stamped in Cranberry Exclusive ink. The "Love" stamp is from a retired stamp set. I colored in the fox, flower, and foreground with my watercolor pencils, and added a little Aqua Dot to the center of the flower for a pop of color.
