12 Days of Christmas: Day 10

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! Today is DAY 10 of the Kraft-y Hearts 12 Days Blog Share. I hope you're enjoying your visits so far.

I'm not sure what the technical name for today's project is, but I'm calling them Pop Up Treat Boxes.

These little treat boxes were cut using Close To My Heart's Artiste Cricut cartridge. They are cut at 3 1/2 inches, which is the size the end up being after you put them together. I love the little pop-up mechanism that allows the lid and box to be one piece. Here's a picture of them opened:

CUTE! The boxes were cut from Cranberry and Cocoa cardstocks. I inked around the edges using matching inks. I matted each box with paper from the Pear & Partridge collection, and inked the edges of the paper with Cashmere Exclusive ink. The treat embellishment was made using a stamp from the Very Merry stamp set. I punched out the middle of the stamp using a 1-inch paper punch and popped it up on a 1 1/4-inch circle with dimensional adhesive. I popped the two circles up on a scalloped circle with dimensional adhesive and glued the whole thing down with strong double-sided tape.

Here's a couple of close-ups:

I ended up making 11 of these boxes for the kids' teachers. They are just the right size for cookies and fudge.

Hope you enjoyed my little pop-up treat boxes. Leave me a comment to be entered in my give away that I'll be conducting on 12/12/12. (The winner will receive a Capture the Date stamp set and a Chocolate Exclusive Ink dye ink pad!)

Hop on over to From My Bungalow and see the lovely project created by my talented friend, Lynn Darda.

12 Days of Christmas: Day 9

Hello All! Welcome to DAY 9 of the Kraft-y Hearts Blog Share. I hope you've been inspired to whip up some crafty goodness for the holidays this year!

Today's home decor project uses the My Creations Star by Close To My Heart.

The star comes in white ready for decoration. CTMH has a template that you can print out that allows you to easily cover the star to match your decor. To make this one, I used Pear & Partridge paper. (A single sheet will cover the star with a bit left over.) Before covering, I inked the edges of the star and the paper pieces using Cashmere Exclusive ink. I then adhered the pieces to the star. For the rosette in the middle, I cut two strips of coordinating patterned paper at 2 x 12 inches, scored both at every 1/2 inch and then accordion-folded them. I attached the two strips together to form a ring, and collapsed it in the middle to form the rosette. I used my hot glue gun and two 1-inch circles to secure it. (I've found with larger rosettes, hot glue is a must.) If you want more elaborate edges in your rosettes, you can find several options on the Artiste Cartridge, which is also the cartridge I used to cut the large snowflakes that I layered behind the rosette. The banner is cut by hand from a piece of Kraft cardstock and layered on coordinating patterned paper. I stamped the background in a snowflake pattern using the Pear & Partridge Workshop On The Go stamp set and Bamboo Exclusive ink. "Peace" is stamped in Cashmere Exclusive ink using the Trinity Alphabet stamp set. The small snowflakes were made using a retired punch by Creative Memories (but you could also use the Artiste or Art Philosophy Cricut cartridges to make them). I added some Pearl adhesive gems and a little Almond Glitz for a little extra pizazz. The red pearl stick pins are from my stash.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I hope you enjoyed my little star, and are inspired to go out and create your own. CTMH has some fantastic 3D creative pieces that are simple to embellish and make wonderful gifts. Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to win some fabulous blog candy from me (a Capture the Date stamp set and a Chocolate Exclusive ink pad!). And you definitely want to go and see what Lynn has been up to at From My Bungalow.

12 Days Of Christmas: Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the Kraft-y Hearts 12 Days Blog Share! Lynn Darda and I are having so much fun sharing some of our holiday creations with everyone. Hope you're enjoying it too!
Here's my project for today:

This card was also made using the Pear & Partridge Card Kit workshop from Close To My Heart. The stamp set is perfect for the holiday season! I used Cocoa, Olive and Cranberry Exclusive ink for the stamping, and added some dimensional adhesive to pop the sentiment up just a bit.

Here's a close-up:

The camera doesn't pick it up that well, but the red gems that are included with this kit have a glittery look. It's like having a huge, gorgeous dot of Red Glitz Glitter Gel without having to wait for it to dry! LOVE THAT!

Hope you enjoyed today's card. Don't forget to stop by Lynn's Bungalow to see the gorgeous project she has for today.

The background, holiday greeting and edges were all done in Cocoa Exculsive ink. The packages are in Cranberry and Olive Exclusive inks.

Here is a close-up:

Krafty Hearts' September Blog Share

Celebrating Close to My Heart's September Stamp of the Month

Hi Friends! Welcome to our first ever Kraft-y Hearts Project Share! This new monthly feature will showcase Close To My Heart's Stamps Of The Month, and is kind of like a blog hop, but a little less formal. :D Today through Friday, Lynn Darda of From My Bungalow and I are going to be showing off the fantastic September Stamp of the Month on our blogs.

Here we go!

I thought I'd start things out with a little Midweek Mojo. Julee Tilman at Mojo Monday has served up quite the challenge for this week. There are a lot of elements in this card, but nothing that our September SOTM and a little kraft cardstock and some Clementine paper can't handle.

Here's my take on Julee's sketch:

The base of the card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4-inches (A2 size), and is cut from Kraft cardstock. (There's a reason we're Kraft-y Hearts!) ;) The pattern paper is from the Clementine paper pack, with a little Sorbet cardstock for accent. I used our Burlap ribbon for behind the pumpkins and then as a fringe near the bottom. (You'll be seeing a fair amount of the Burlap over the next few posts. This really is a fun ribbon to work with and the texture it adds to a project is outstanding!) The large button is from the Bohemian assortment and the two small flower buttons are from the Buttons Basic assortment. I tied little pieces of the Burlap string in each of the buttons to give them a finished look, and attached them with glue dots. (The strings are from pieces I pulled out of the ribbon to create the bottom fringe.)

I stamped the pumpkins and the sentiment in Chocolate exclusive ink on Colonial White cardstock and distressed the edges of the sentiment with Chocolate exclusive ink. The pumpkins are from the September SOTM. I colored them with my watercolor pencils. (My new Close To My Heart alcohol ink markers should be coming in any day now. I can't wait to use them with the SOTM!) The sentiment is from the Casual Expressions stamp set.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

And here it is with its matching envelope:

I hope you enjoyed the card! Remember the Stamp Of The Month can be purchased for the full retail price of $17.95 OR for just $5 with a $50 order.

Don't forget to stop by Lynn's Bungalow to see more beautiful creations!

I'll see you tomorrow for another Kraft-y Hearts share!
